Informal survey of activity at the Vestibular Disorders Association (VEDA)
▪ During January–November 2005, 65,000 people per month asked VEDA for information via our Web site, e-mail, fax, phone, and mail. This climbed from 50,000 requests per month during 2003.
▪ 13,000 requests per month are made for our Resource Lists of physicians, physical therapists, and audiologists who specialize in vestibular disorders (2003–2005).
▪ The most frequently requested information was about obtaining proper diagnosis and treatment (2003–2005).
▪ During January–November 2005, the most frequently requested diagnosis topics were labyrinthitis, Meniere's disease and endolymphatic hydrops, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), and ototoxicity.
